UHZ Sports Medicine Institute

Welcome to UHZ Sports Medicine Institute at Doctors Hospital in Coral Gables, Florida.

Our Board-certified, Fellowship-trained orthopedic physicians are international leaders in the care of athletes and treatment of sports injuries.

UHZ Institute treats professional and Olympic athletes from around the country, the Caribbean and Latin America, as well as recreational athletes in our own South Florida community. UHZ’s goal is to get patients back to peak performance.

Our physicians are on the cutting edge of orthopedic research and have developed new surgical techniques to reconstruct damaged ankles and knees, and to repair injured elbows and shoulders. They have published numerous articles in top medical journals. As professors at Florida International University, UHZ doctors provide clinical education to the next generation of sports medicine specialists. UHZ Sports Medicine Institute and Doctors Hospital also participate in Fellowship and Residency programs for orthopedic physicians and offer an internship for athletic training that has attracted students from around the globe.

Our staff includes Athletic Trainers and Physician Assistants who support UHZ physicians in their clinical practice and participate in outreach programs within the community. UHZ strives to give top-quality, compassionate care to every individual we treat.

UHZ Sports Medicine Institute is the official sports medicine provider for the Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami City Ballet, Florida International University and the Miami-Dade Public Schools’ High School Athletics Program.
