Before joining UHZ Sports Medicine Institute, he was the head athletic trainer at Cypress Bay High School in Weston. Leopoldo H. He served as the head athletic trainer from 2006 to 2008 at Hallandale High School. Jeffrey Elliott, M.S., ATC E-mail: jeffreyel@baptisthealth.net Mr. Elliott earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Colorado State University and his master’s in exercise science from Florida Atlantic University. Before joining the Institute, he worked as head athletic trainer at Florida Memorial University and assistant athletic trainer at Delaware State University. Farah Hernandez, M.S., ATC E-mail: farahh@baptisthealth.net Ms. Hernandez worked with athletes at Florida International University, and in a physical therapy office, before joining the Institute. She has a bachelor’s degree in sports and exercise science and a master’s in athletic training from Florida International University. Yi-Tzu Kuo, M.S., ATC E-mail: yitzuk@baptisthealth.net Ms. Kuo earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Denver, a master’s in exercise physiology from Florida International University. Before joining the Institute she worked at the University of Miami in the Athletic Training Education Program, focusing on the football, women’s basketball, tennis, rowing and track and field teams. She has completed her course work for a Ph.D. in exercise physiology. Tessie Mestre, M.S., ATC E-mail: tessiem@baptisthealth.net Ms. Mestre has worked at the Institute since the summer of 2004. Before that, she worked as a graduateassistant at Barry University. She received both her undergraduate degree in athletic training and her master’s degree in sport and exercise psychology from Barry University. Sara Ramirez, B.S., ATC E-mail: sarara@baptishealth.net Ms. Ramirez earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports medicine from Florida International University.
