What is Orthopedics?Orthopedics is the medical specialty involved in the preservation and restoration of function of the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic medicine treats a wide variety of injuries and disorders pertaining to the skeleton as well as bones, joints and tendons. What is Sports Medicine? Sports medicine is the field of medicine concerned with enhancement of health and fitness and the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of injuries sustained in sports, exercise or recreational activity. How Can I Make an Appointment? The Scheduling Office can be reached by dialing (305) 669-3320. Patients are examined by appointment only from 8:00 AM to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. Every attempt will be made to schedule appointments in a timely manner. What if I have an Emergency? Physicians are available 24 hours per day and can be reached by dialing (305) 669¬3320. An emergency telephone number will be provided. Non-emergency calls are handled during regular office hours. What if I need a Prescription? During regular office hours, certified athletic trainers who work directly with each physician can be reached by dialing (305) 669-3320. Please provide the patient's full name, date of birth and pharmacy telephone number. All prescriptions require physician approval. How Much is an Office Visit and/or Surgery? It is not always possible to provide an exact amount for office visits and/or surgery. However, an inclusive estimate can be provided when requested and are calculated according to the complexity of the patient's condition. What About Insurance? Most insurance companies have deductible amounts and/or co-payments. Your medical insurance coverage is verified prior to your appointment. Each patient is responsible for their deductible and/or any percentage that is not covered. Payment is expected at the time services are rendered. What Method of Payment is Accepted? Payment is accepted in the form of cash, personal check, travelers checks, VISA, MaterCard, Discover and American Express. |
