Dr. Gary M. Kiebzak is the Clinical
Research Administrator at the UHZ Sports Medicine
Institute, Doctors Hospital, and is a member of the
Center of Research & Grants at Baptist Health
South Florida. His research specialty is bone biology
in general, and in particular, osteoporosis and bone
densitometry. His primary duty at the UHZ Sports Medicine
Institute is to assist the surgeons with their research
activities.
Dr. Kiebzak received his Ph.D. at Marquette University,
and completed fellowships in the Department of Physiology
and Biophysics at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota,
and also in the Department of Biochemistry at the
Gerontology Research Center of the National Institute
of Aging, National Institutes of Health in Baltimore,
Maryland. He is one of only a few clinical research
scientists worldwide to have completed the requirements
to be designated a Certified Clinical Densitometrist
by the International Society for Clinical Densitometry.
Formerly, he held positions as Director of Research
Services at Miller Orthopeadic Clinic in Charlotte,
North Carolina, and as Chief Research Scientist at
the Center for Orthopaedic Research and Education
at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston,
Texas. He has over 100 published papers and abstracts.
